A programming breakthrough!

The next version of The Succession Wars Mod will properly display the different castle looks on different terrains. This feature, native to HoMM2, was not present in HoMM3, but now we will be able to make maps look much more neat and consistent.

No, the Forge is just a prank ;)

Whow, now I am impressed! That is truly amazing! I did even think it was possible. It had bothered me a bit when I was playing our mod, but now it is just perfect! Great applause for feanor (or who else did it) :D

Wonderful! People won't be able to tell the mod from the original.

We still need to add the road extension near the entrance. It's not going to be too hard, though.

Great about the roads, but do we also add the h2 river? It is the h3 one atm.

We are working on it. There are some technical difficulties with the cycling colors feature (which also concerns water terrain). The rivers might be changed a bit - probably, made from scratch.

Well, that would be great, because the current ones don't really fit the whole atmosphere :)

Niiiice!

I just came of thinking about HOMM2 and how I liked it.
I then came of thinking of awesome it would be to have the HOMM2 feelgood-feeling with the best features from HOMM3.

I then wondered if there was a mod community around Heroes2, and YES THERE IS!! :D :D

This looks awesome, keep it up! :-)

If you like H2 with more features, more castles and more units, then this mod is just for you :) But it really is a H3 mod, but if you want a pure mod for H2 then I would advise you to look up Project Ironfist. I do unfortunaly not know if they are still active, but I think they got a beta or something to download :)

How did you do this? Is this forge on the picture? Did you just draw it for this picture?

I drew that Forge before, and pasted it here just for fun, to check people's reaction.

No, I meant how did you program those castles to work like that?

It was not me, it's OxFEA aka feanor who did it.
The feature is implemented as an additional plugin for Era which will be put in the mod folder.

VCMI also supports this feature, but it is implemented by another way there.

One moment to note: we decided to remove the capitol flags because of the technical difficulties. They are not necessary anyway, Heroes 2 didn't have them. You can anyway see if there is a Capitol while right-clicking the castle on the adventure map.
